Dr. Michael Bauer, DDS

My longtime dentist retired in May, so I called my clinic and on an hour's notice, I was scheduled to see Dr. Bauer for gum and jaw pain below a crown. After a single xray the problem was identified. Dr. Bauer and his assistant, Beth, prepped me, and in less than an hour he performed a difficult long-rooted canal. It was as positive an experience one could ever dare to call a root canal. As he proceeded, he calmly explained what he was doing and why, and continually made sure I was not uncomfortable. I went into the chair deeply apprehensive after 30 years with a single dentist, and left the clinic comfortable in knowing I had found his replacement. I cannot recommend this doctor more highly! He and Beth are caring, kind and professional!

Dr Bauer is the most competent and compassionate dentist I have ever had. He is experienced, caring, and pleasant. He takes time to show you what needs to be done, why and how. I can tell (after all my years!) by the way my mouth feels when he is working that I am getting the best of care. His assistant is competent and sociable-she puts me at ease. Never would have thunk that I wouldn't mind visiting the dentist! You won't be sorry you gave him a try. I recommend him without reservation.

Due to a change in insurance, after years of being Dr. Bauer's patient, I changed to a young doctor. I had an abscessed tooth. An x-ray was taken and I was referred to a specialist. The specialist said my tooth needed to be removed and I would need a bridge. Due to financial considerations, I put off the procedure. When I finally returned to HealthPartners, I returned to Dr. Bauer. He re-took the x-ray. He said there didn't appear to be a problem with my tooth. That was 5 years ago and the tooth is fine. I thank, Dr. Bauer, for saving my tooth and the money it would have cost for oral surgery and a bridge!

Dr. Bauer spent more time touting his long years at HP than listening to my comments and concerns. So instead of completing my dental work in 2 appointments, I had to have 6 visits. Also, two filling fell out within a few months necessitating additional visits. I changed dentists.

Dr. Bauer is kind and compassionate. He takes the time to explain every step of procedures and has even made special appointments outside of his typical hours when I was in pain. Previously, I hated going to the dentist, now I am happy to go!

I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone over many in the area. He treated me with the utmost dedication and helped to solve a major dental problem. Thank you Dr. Bauer for your passion for this profession. RFC

Dr. Bauer is very patient, gentle and capable. I have insurance through a MN state employee plan, and for the above reasons, have used him for at least 25 years.
