Dr. Michael Aloe, DMD

Dr. Aloe was brusque and condescending. A root canal is hard enough with without the doctor behaving in such a way. (On the other hand, I had a follow up appointment with his partner Dr. Carr, and she was lovely.) But the worst part was that when you call the office with any issue, they immediately (and only) tell you to do a salt water rinse. I understand they probably have to deal with a lot of people in pain, but sometimes there’s a genuine problem that needs to be addressed. The first time I called was shortly after my root canal, and they gave the saltwater advice. But it turns out that the roof canal had ulcerated and I needed antibiotics.Fast-forward a couple weeks and I was still in pain. I called the office and was given the same salt water rinse advice. At that point I’ve had enough, and made an appointment in DC. Turns out that my tooth had fractured and needed to be removed.I would not recommend this office.

I am 77 now, and have had too many root canals. I have had FIVE root canals done by Dr Aloe, probably as many done by others in the past, and while they are not fun, they are no longer something I dread like I used to. With as many root canals as I have had, I have a basis for comparison most people do not have - They do not need to be painful and time-consuming.Dr Aloe even re-did a root canal I had done years ago that was improperly done and saved a tooth that would otherwise have been lost.The only thing better than getting a root canal done by Dr Aloe is not needing a root canal!!

Dr. Aloe performed a root canal through my brand new (very expensive) bridge. Understandably, I was worried that the bridge would be ruined. I entered the office as a nervous wreck and immediately felt at ease after talking to him. He was amazing- very professional, nice and reassuring. He really took the time to explain everything to me. I heard him talking to other patients too, taking the time with each of them. His dental assistant was also very friendly and comforting, great chair-side manners! I went to the office in Lewes, plenty of parking, clean and modern. I waited less than 10 minutes. I highly recommend.

Dr Aloe made a root canal on my tooth #18 virtually pain free. He accomplished the procedure on a tooth with four deeply seated roots in less than 40 minutes. My family dentist referred me there as he would need 3-4 visits to get results. Dr. Aloe seems slightly reserved but his helper assistant was both concerned for my pain. Overall, I felt I was in very good and very competent hands? Thank you for making something hard-wired into me as a traumaic experience into something fairly benign!!

I went in for a complicated root canal and Dr Aloe was awesome. It was painless. Even though he spent twice the time expected, I still paid the price quoted. He was informative, kind, thorough and pleasant. It was my first root canal and I was nervous but he was great.
