They have a long history of problems in the billing department: overcharging, undercharging, sometimes charge at time of visit, sometimes don't, failure to disclose at time of service whether the services will be covered by insurance or not, how much the service will cost, failure to disclose when a service has a lower cost alternative, incorrect codes sent to the insurance, bills lacking in detail or explanation. They refuse to acknowledge or abide by information provided in writing from the insurance company with which they hold a contract. Their behavior is unprofessional, they are incapable of having a discussion and coming to a mutual understanding, they throw insults at the insurance company, they refuse to answer your questions, talk over you, give you ultimatums, remove your children from service, and hang up on you on the phone. Don't waste your time with Portsmouth Dental, find a more professional dental practice that is fair, honest, and that you can trust.

We. have been seeing Dr. Royer and Dr. May for quite sometime and find that there is a pleasant office experience, relaxed and not stressful. Waiting time is minimal, office personnel are great. Dr. Royer and Dr. May are very congenial and put you at ease. I give them five stars.

I have been Dr. Royer’s Patient for many years. She is absolutely outstanding in every category ! Superior expertise, wonderful interpersonal manor, a joy to talk to. She Inspires great confidence, and takes the time inform her patients of every detail of her treatment. Excellence Deserves Recognition ! She is the best Dentist I have ever encountered in my life, and I have lived in Newport County for 73 years!

This is the most egotistical, condescending, and rude dentist I've ever visited. If I could give her zero stars I would. Only go to her if it's an absolute emergency. I wish I had checked with my office mates before going to her. They all said the same thing, avoid, avoid, avoid! She has great office staff and her partner is okay, but she needs to retire from practice.
