First visit was an emergency visit for pain in tooth that had a root canal and crown a few years earlier. She took xray and gave antibiotic. Had to go back for a full mouth X-rays and cleaning and then go back again for full mouth exam at which time she told me I needed a lot of work to be done.She said I had to go to see a Endodontist to have that tooth checked.it was going to be $300.00 to get in the door plus whatever work had to be done.I choose to go to St Petersburg Dental School in Seminole where I saw a Dentist that had graduated the year before.He thought that tooth was fractured but called in the specialist a endodontist to look at xray and confirm it was fractured and that’s why I was in so much pain and said there was nothing they could do to save that tooth.So why wouldn’t a Dentist with 25 years at Happy Smiles know this.My conclusion like other reviews was money.This tooth had to be pulled after suffering for months going there.Anna in office was caught lies.Stay away.

I recently went to Dr. Pommaganti for the first time. She was very thorough and transparent. She took X-Rays, which were visible to me during my entire visit via a computer screen. She even called me twice after my procedures to see how I was doing. She demonstrated that she really cares which is important in a dentist. Her staff is very pleasant and competent too. I referred my husband and he has already scheduled his first appointment.

I am an orthopedic surgeon of greater than 40 years of practice experience at the Harvard affiliated hospitals in Boston. Being very exacting in my profession I was worried in seeking emergency dental care in Clearwater Florida. I was referred to Dr Mamta Poonaganti by another medical doctor. My fear was unfounded as Dr M Poonaganti was absolutely amazing. I found her very well trained , she has tremendous bedside manners and she is very gentle. She explained my dental problem, explained completely each step of the procedure she undertook, and spent time explaining post surgery care. I must say that I was surprised to receive such high end care so far away from Boston. I have given her 5 stars as she deserved high praise

I’m so thankful for having come here and meeting the competent professionals here. My mouth was in poor shape and Lucky, and Dr. Ponnaganti, were excellent dental care providers. They didn’t mess around or waste time. They want to help you.

Bad experience. At the first appointment, everyone is very nice but it is just x-rays and consultation. Immediately after you leave, they ask for a review. This is how they get good reviews. Then they give you a treatment plan. Mine was several thousand dollars and they tried to use high pressure sales tactics to get me to sign on the spot. When I asked to bring it home to review it, they became nasty and unpleasant. They told me they couldn't offer me the same price or financing unless I signed it right then. They refused to go through the insurance and didn't even call (although they said they did). They tried to charge me for several things that would have been covered by my insurance. When I called my insurance company they urged me to file a complaint against Happy Smiles but I didn't want to have anything else to do with them. I just got a different dentist.

Do not go to this dentist! They will conduct treatments that are not authorized by your insurance and they do not inform you of this. I went for a cleaning and was told of the issues I had. Okay fine, what do I know about dentistry. How blindly we put our faith in people to do right by you, especially when they've received their doctorate. We were to do the procedures in two parts. I went for the first, which I knew was necessary as I had a root canal that did not have a cap. Between procedures I had time to think about the next one. I have a tooth with a substantial filling and a very small cavity on the side that wouldn't be possible to fill. That makes sense but why am I going to shave my tooth down to a nub right now? I have at least a couple more years of keeping my actual tooth without capping it. Luckily, I my allergies were so bad the day of the appointment that I was not able to breathe through my nose. She is just a money minded doctor trying to complicate things to extract money, avoid at all cost.

Had an old silver filling that was cracked...Dr. advised me I needed a crown. Within 6 months I had the permanent crown fall out 3 times and the temporary crown fall out 3 times. After deciding to move to another Dentist I called my insurance...I found out that both my cavities and crown where covered by insurance BUT they never used my insurance and had be pay outright. Moreover, the crown had a 1 year waiting period they never advised me of...I could have simply waited for the waiting period.
