I drive from out of state to see Dr. Kou
I've had many dental woes since childhood and been in Dr. Keith Kou's care since my 30s (for the last 12 years). A dentist is like a PCP for your teeth -- you need one who is skilled, has YOUR interests (not profit) in mind, and cares and takes time to explain. Dr. Kou has been very skilled at diagnosing and restoration work and never pushes unnecessary procedures. He has done restoration crown work for me after 2 root canals, and caught all the issues in my teeth early so I don't worse problems. Even when he moved away from Chicago and I stopped being his patient, he would still answer my calls, look at my x-rays, and help me think through decisions. I now drive to Indiana to continue seeing him, as I can't afford to see a doctor I don't trust completely.
