Dr. Gordon Dufour, DMD

Dr Dufour does not stand by his work and can be rude and insulting. He can even be very foul in his language. He has a very egotistical nature.

I went to dentist Dufour last year in 2020 for dental cleaning since his name showed on my insurance as a network dentist. His office was only a few minutes away from my house., which was very convenient to me! I filled out multiple page inquiries regarding my health and allergies. His assistance came in and asked all those same questions including allergy that I answered already through the paper inquires. I said I already answered those questions. She got upset. Dentist came in in a very hostile angry manner, and asked purposely same questions again. I answered the same questions and said I answered already on the paper. He got very angry and shouted to me to leave. I had to leave. I went back and said he had a duty to provide me a service as a patient. He had a very angry and hostile manner, refused to give me the dental service with loud hostile voice. There were 2-3 staff workers who witnessed the scene. I give him ZERO rating as a dentist. I am so disappointed. My sister goes to him and reassured me he was great and we both have anxiety. Today I had gone in and felt comfortable. Things started off well. Dr. Darfour came in said hello and pulled the needle up and caught me by surprise. He came back gave me the shots and he was nice. He started drilling and moved up to a bigger drill then I became light headed. I told him and then he had an attitude. When he came back to put a temporary filler in and his vibe did a 180. Then after proceeded to tell me I am too jumpy, anxious, and said I have hives? Told me he will not work on me due to my anxiety. This was not the problem. I have seen my sister have an anxiety attack while there. He had a nasty tone. He seemed on edge and I left crying with a numb face with nothing done. The site I looked at said they do well with mental issues .. clearly not and made me feel worse for them. Seemed like he just wanted to leave and didn’t have time for me. Staff was very sweet though.

I have been a patient since my previous dentist retired about 25 years ago. Dr. Dufour is always on time, no long waiting times when I have an appointment. He explains things well and his work is top quality. His assistants are all pleasant and professional as well. On the few occasions when I needed care in a hurry he has fit me in quickly.

Very professional, friendly and takes the time to explain the entire process every time for each procedure. The office communication is great, they are on time or communicate with you if there will be a slight delay or if an earlier appointment has opened that day that fits better into your days schedule.

I have never felt so comfortable going to the dentist before coming to Dr. Dufour. I have medical/dental insurance through the state (NJFamilyCare), and for those unfamiliar, it is very difficult to find a doctor in network, and nearly impossible to find a GOOD doctor. Before coming to Dr. Dufour, I saw a local dentist, who left me in the chair for 45 minutes to talk to her friend before doing my cleaning. She told me I needed 2 fillings, which I did not have done with her because I didn't feel

Dr,Dufour I trusted him until yesterday. I went to the office and sat in the dentist chair I have never been scared of the dentist so I was calm and when he gave me the first injection it shot through my face and it hurt he was nasty and replied with if you move again I wont do both cavities. I was in shock then he gave me the second shot and the pain was terrible so I screamed he threaten again not to do the work that was already consented to.no compassion none ! PS HE DID NO FILLINGS AT ALL!

After many trips to another Dentists my problem was not solved. Two trips to Dr. DuFour , who I haven't seen in six years and he took me right in, my problem was over. He was very thorough and expert in his procedures. This is why I give him the highest rating. His staff was also very polite and helpful!
