Dr. Goichi Shiotsu, DDS

I was too busy to carefully choose a dentist, so I stayed at his clinic for several years, paying out-of-plan fees because it was closer to me. One day, I discovered that he tried to refer me to a very costly specialist. That prompted me to check prices for the same service at other clinics, and I found that similar treatments were much more affordable on the east side.What ultimately made me leave was his neglect of patient privacy. His clinic is old and congested, and he speaks to patients very loudly, even when there are over ten staff members and other patients present. I’m not sure how he has maintained such an ignorant and unprofessional demeanor as a practicing dentist.Overall, I had very rude and uncomfortable experiences there.

Dr. Shiotsu has been my dentist for 20 years. He is an excellent dentist and the office and his staff are extremely organized and professional. I could not recommend anyone more highly.

I started going to Dr. Shiotsu once my dentist retired. He is fantastic. I needed a crown replacement. The temporary crown that he put in was better from a fit and function than the original crown. Now I have the permanent crown and it is perfect from all aspects.

This review is in response to the 8/19/19 one-star review by "Anonymous." I am a health care professional and must respond. I am sorry that "Anonymous" had an implant failure. But no health care provider can guarantee a perfect result every time. Sometimes we really don't know why treatment failed on a particular patient, because every human being is different and comes with a whole set of unique problems. Also, "Anonymous" inferred that Dr. Shiotsu is not a "specialist." In fact, he has had 7 years of post-dental school specialty training, including 5 years in Prosthodontics and Implant Surgery. His diplomas are on his waiting room wall for all to see. But the comment that bothered me the most was that "Anonymous" had spoken to an MD and an "implant specialist" and they had given their opinion about Dr. Shiotsu's prescribing antibiotics when neither of them knew anything about her case. This is HIGHLY unprofessional and unethical of them!

Dr Shiotsu is the consummate prosthodontics dentist. Can't say enough good things about him personally and his technical expertise. I had extensive whole mouth reconstruction and it took a while but he got it 100% right. I couldn't be more pleased than I am now. Thanks Dr.

I have gone to Dr. Shiotsu for many years and I always look forward to my visits. I feel well cared for and totally confident that the practice and equipment are state of the art. The office is expertly run and creatively decorated. The professional space is very clean and comfortable. The staff is well educated and skilled and very respectful. Dr. Shiotsu is meticulous and exact in his technique. He is calm and devoted to precision and aesthetics. I trust his care to be the best.

Fabulous. Attentive and focused on prevention. He even opened his office on a weekend to fix a broken tooth. Thank you Dr. Shiotsu and team!

Both Dr. Shiotsu and his staff do a fabulous job, good care, very capable - no reason to go anywhere else.
