Rude dismissive
Appointment started 25 minutes late. Absolute waste of time. He is so condescending and spends the entire appointment talking at you. He tries to bait you into answering his questions the he wants. He thinks every person has TMJ due to sleep and anxiety problems. He also thinks if you aren’t in constant pain you’re fine. Barely looks at you, the least thorough exam I’ve ever received. This is obviously a last resort for me-I’ve tried a lot of remedies. He admitted he just looks at people and sends them where they need to go, and I will never get injections covered via insurance. Why would you not try when a patients comfort depends on it? He was also surprised my Dentist was a woman. Gave a print out that he’s probably been using for 30 years with a reference to a random physical therapist (first name only) with no follow up. The office was also not clean at. I think this man should have retired years ago- his visible golf clubs in the office speak enough of his sentiment as a Doctor.

Excellent practitioner with keen insight....
Dr. Robins provides an excellent overview of condition and how to resolve. He provides practical, to the point, and very relevant information to continuing sound health. Listened well and provided solid feedback with suggestions on materials to read related to my situation.

Don’t waste your time
Waited 20 mins past my appointment tike only for him to tell me my issues are poor sleep and anxiety/stress….. I wish doctors actually tried to help patients these days. I was written off quickly and I could tell he just wanted to get me out the door as quickly as possible. such a waste of time.

Poor Bedside Manner
The staff I interacted with before Dr. Robins were informative, helpful, and polite. Dr. Robins, though, was condescending and pretentious. During our hour long appointment, he complained to me about other patients who did not take his advice, discussed his life philosophies with me, gave me a book recommendation (unsurprisingly not for an oral or maxillofacial book), and informed me that remedying my TMJ would, in fact, not fix all of my problems. This was all to conclude that my problem is not actually that severe and could be much worse. I am aware enough to know how a person should politely communicate with another person, and this was not it.

I brought my 17 year old in to see Dr. Robins at the recommendation of another doctor for what we thought was TMJ. He was very abrupt and did not take the time to listen to my daughter at all. He kept talking around her to me, even though I kept trying to direct him to my daughter. In addition, he did not seem to hear my daughter when she said that her pain was not coming from where he insisted it was coming from. After seeing another doctor, we've discovered that it was not TMJ at all!

Dr. Robins is excellent at explaining my condition, and a very attentive listener. I was thoroughly impressed. I once placed a call to him a month after my appointment with a question. He called me back personally a half hour later.

In 1982-1983 Dr. Robins evaluated my situation -- myofascial pain dysfunction syndrome and related conditions, extensive fillings. After I also visited JHU and GWU dental clinics, I was lucky enough to pick Dr. Robins. The short version is that in 1983 at age 37 I got a matched set of 28 crowns, made to Dr. Robins specifications, made by a truly extraordinary lab. I still have (as of February 2017) 25 of those crowns. I have never had jaw/facial pain again. Dr. Robins is the best.
