I did not complete my last service. The office attempted to upcharge for a cleaning based on dentist's recommendation due to receiving a deep cleaning the prior yr, although I specifically scheduled for a standard preventative cleaning. The dentist was not in the office & I was told by both the hygienist & front office that I could not opt for a regular cleaning due to dentist's 'recommendation'. This has never happened to me with any other dental office. It is a recommendation & as the patient, I am allowed to disagree with that recommendation & opt for a standard cleaning instead. In addition, when I received the deep cleaning, no one - including the dentist- told me that if I chose this option, I will have to do a deeper cleaning in perpetuity. If they had advised me of this, I would have opted for a standard cleaning. Lastly, before I came into the office for my appt, I made sure to call & confirm I was doing standard cleaning w. no deductible. No one called to advise me of change.

I've been going to this practice for a number of years and the service has always been at the highest levels. Compassion, comfort, concern and professionalism are some of the traits that are followed by her entire staff.

I was in a lot of pain due to an issue on a pulled tooth which was done outside of Dr. Ortiz's office. I called and needed to be seen in the worst way. They did not make me wait, or schedule me a week out. They said that they did not want me to be in pain and Dr Ortiz took me in right away. She compassionately and diligently worked on my issue explaining and constantly asking if I was ok all throughout a very painful process. She took time to talk about the issue as she was working and genuinely cared about what I was going through. I have been to other dentists over the years, but I cannot say that any of them in my opinion were as caring, gentle and knowledgeable as Dr. Ortiz. The whole staff is amazing from the front desk to the techs. They have definitely taken away that negative connotation of "going to the dentist" for me. As long as Dr Ortiz is in practice, I will be a loyal patient.

I do recommend Dr. Ortiz-Castillo to all looking for a dentist. She is kind and caring and her staff reflects that.

I had so much anxiety about the dentist that I stayed away for 10 years but Dr. Ortiz and her staff really put me at ease and made it a truly painless and pleasant experience.

The entire team did an outstanding job! I would certainly recommend Dr. Ortiz and her staff to my friends and family.

Everyone of staff is very friendly and make the visit the best you can have at a dentist. Liz is great!!

The hygienist insisted that I have a full set of x-rays plus a Panorex. I had a Panorex 6 months earlier and would have it sent over, that would not do. I didn't want the extra x-ray and the insurance company only covered one or the other. She continued to insist and took the x-ray without protection. The hygienist and dentist went on to tell me I needed three caps and needed to do it now. I had a second opinion and didn't need any of the work. I will not return to this dentist.

Dr. Ortiz and the entire staff of Baldwin Park Family Dental are fantastic! They are so much more than a dentist office, they are a group of wonderful friends that I get to visit every time I have an appointment. I highly recommend this practice!

Dr Ortiz has a very friendly and approachable approach. She made me feel very comfortable and well taken care of.

Laurie, the dental hygienist is terrific. Because I have discomfort with water in my throat when I am in a full horizontal position, she tilts the chair up an stands as she cleans my teeth. Beyond the call of duty.
