Dr. David Self, DDS

I’ve been going two years and only saw him twice! There is a large turnover, the technicians do most of the work. I saw him on my first visit where he tells me all of my teeth under the crowns had rottened and couldn’t be fixed! I had my teeth pulled by another dentist from another practice who came in, never saw him! He now says I need $4000 of implants to hold them in?.. He must not be able to do the hardest work so he gets someone else to do it. I went by and picked up my X-rays, I had several taken, but said it was all they had - a copy of half my teeth, none of upper teeth, and I am going to take it to a reliable dentist, as bad as the picture is, and tell me if I got ripped off!

I went to Dr. Self in January 2022 to have a consultation regarding an upper denture. I seen Dr. Self and I was asked if I wanted "gas or to be put to sleep" when I had the 9 teeth removed. I stated I would need gas. I had a previous experience and was terrified of dentists. On the day of the appointment, I was told that they did not offer gas. I had already waited 2 weeks for the appointment, so I did it. It was not as bad as I thought. I was quoted a price and was told by the office manager that she would contact my insurance company. She told me that I did not have coverage because I was out of my home state. I called my insurance company and was told that she did call once. She was told they would pay 80% since I was out of network. She lied to me, the doctor lied to me. Everything that Aspen Dental Rome GA told me was basically a lie. I want to get a portion of my money back but can not get an answer at their office. My insurance company has been calling with no luck either.
