LIAR! She said I needed to have my previous fillings replaced with crowns. 2 on each side. Upper and lower. I let her do one side of my mouth. I knew something was wrong so I went to another dentist and I did not need crowns. I just needed new fillings. My bite is off ever since and I have terrible pain. I recently lost the tooth she crowned after years of trying to save the tooth by a reputable dentist. My teeth on the other side are fine. She would have shaved them down too. Oh and she let her assistant place the crown not needed. How does she still have a license?

If you value you oral health, do not go to Smiles By Design! My daughter had a crown done at this practice that ended up being done poorly (spaces on each side allowing food to get stuck). She went back to Dr. Schraw to have her review it but told her nothing was wrong with it. If you look at the pictures and x-rays, even someone without a medical degree can see the crevices on the sides. I then asked them to reimburse me so that I could have the crown done elsewhere, but they refused, telling me it was too late (crown is only 2 years old and she stopped going to them a year after it was done).I am very disappointed with the service that I received at this dental practice. I would not recommend them to anyone. I would advise anyone who is considering going to this dental practice to do their research first. There are many other dental practices in the area that are more reputable and offer better service. I wish I had read more reviews on this place first. Also, word of warning,

I went here for some fillings and had repeated pain in my tooth afterwards. I went back a few time to see what the problem was. After months of headaches and pain I went to another dentist in Charlotte who was "shocked" at the horrible job that was done. Apparently, she put too much filling on my tooth which slid down towards the gums bonding 2 teeth together preventing me from being able to floss between those teeth and allow my teeth to naturally move when chewing . It added to the pain because food would become trapped without any way of getting out and later resulted in another cavity. Fortunately my sister is also a dentist in PA and I took a picture of my new x-ray which showed VERY clearly the filling that had seeped down near his gum line. I sent it to her while he was at the new dentist's office. She was equally surprised at the terrible job that was done and stated there was no excuse for such terrible work. THOUSANDS of $$$ LOST

Stay away!!! Have had nothing but pain since letting her replace my filling. Never had pain prior to the replacement. Turns out, the replacement filling was touching my nerve, I was told it was nothing serious. Thank God I got a second opinion. When the new dentist showed me the x-ray, it was clear the filling was touching my nerve. Should have never let her touch it, Two months and a root canal later, pain free,

I had used her a couple of times and decided to find another DDS. Not pleased with her solution to a dental problem and referred to a fellow dentist.

This was the best experience I have had in over 20 years..I have had an awful time with dentist..I felt comfortable and I really can smile again..I can't say enough good things but do not hesitate to call them...they are great!!
