Drilled into crown without numbing
It was a routine appointment for an abutment for an implant that was year into treatment. The abutment arrived way to tall for the space and he started drilling into my solid gold crown above it. After he got through the gold he drilled into my tooth underneath and it hurt so bad that I clamped down on his drill and brought it to a stop. He had not numbed it and just started right back into drilling, again my jaw slammed shut and this time he was angry. I ended up leaving with an abutment that was to low to mount a crown and a molar above that was cut through live nerves and could even feel my tongue touching it. I called the office manager without knowing Newberry OWNS the business and he offered to either give me a filling in the crown he had sawed off or refund my abutment cost. They refunded my cash portion and kept the insurance. That was the 31st of January and I have to wait til mid Sep to have the abutment replaced elsewhere. Now he is retaliating by not finishing

This is MY personal opinion and I decided to share MY experience with Dr. Newberry.I had a root canal with Dr. Newberry on Nov. 16th and it felt fine for the first few days. Then I've developed sore bump in an area high above the root canal tooth and have constant pain.My PCP at Washington University was concerned something was wrong. I went back to Dr. Newberry due to my PCP’s concern.Sadly he used scare tactics with me by saying that I needed to go to an oral surgeon and they would likely take out my tooth, possibly all the teeth on that side even though I asked him to first tell me what was wrong and causing the issues.Oddly he never answered that question but was sure I would have my teeth pulled. Mind you I'm on a specific infusions for breast cancer and teeth extractions can cause jaw necrosis. He knew this was the possibility I’d face with my infusion and without any explanation kept telling me I’d have my teeth pulled.

Dismissive
I went to Dr Newberry to have a couple of teeth checked for the need of a root canal. He was friendly at first, but the exam was quick, he did not announce any of his actions or tell me what he was about to put into my (sensitive and hurting) mouth. When I tried asking questions about the recommended course of treatment, I felt brushed off and dismissed. If you like to make informed decisions regarding your own health, look elsewhere.

Great Endodontist, But No Nitrous Oxide To Go
I've seen Dr. Newberry more than once. The most recent visit involved a required root canal procedure due to a broken tooth (that I broke the previous day). The procedure took almost no time, and very little pain was involved. I didn't even need painkillers afterward. Honestly, I'm surprised by the negatives listed above. I can't think of anything negative to include in my review. If you've never had a bad experience with root canals, then maybe you can't appreciate how well Dr. Newberry and his staff take care of things.

I have no doubt that Dr. Newberry is very talented. He is quick and efficient but unfortunately he is too aggressive. Two out of three of my root canals he did failed. One required apico surgery and the other tooth I had to have extracted. He's just too aggressive.

I needed a root canal and saw Dr Newberry. My tooth never seemed right after and he blew me off every time I went back. Here I am YEARS later and had to have the tooth pulled. My oral surgeon said he was not impressed with my root canal! Save yourself and your TEETH and go see Dr Mark Massey!!!

Root canals are easier than a regular filling appointment. They even fit me in as an emergency. Have seen two doctors at this office and they were thorough, gentle and would use them again, if needed! Thank you for the excellent care.

A few years ago, I had a root canal there. They were all nice, and then came time to bill. They misled me on the costs. Not only that, but this doctor and his wife made stuff up about our interaction, and threatened me with arrest when I brought my billing concern to them, once I received my bill. There were witnesses. Carecredit was used. Never again.

I was able to book an appointment quickly. The root canal was done in less than an hour and I felt fine afterwards. Unfortunately my tooth has yet to stop hurting, a month and a half later. I have had two follow up appointments with them and they just keep prescribing me antibiotics. The last time I was in they told me I might have a tooth fracture and to come back in two months if it still hurt, which I felt was unacceptable.
