I paid $2,750 cash to Dr. Gerbholz for a mouth appliance to treat my sleep apnea. My insurance company denied the reimbursement claim submitted by Dr. Gerbholz's office because "There are no medical records to support the medical necessity for the requested services." I repeatedly requested Dr. Gerbholz to provide me with the documentation of my diagnosis (including results of 2 sleep studies) so I could appeal the denial myself, but never received it. I remain $2,750 poorer. Buyer beware!!
